First you need to make sure the file "funname.cfg" was saved to the 'quake2/baseq2' directory.
Next, make sure the game you are joining is a modified Quake2 game that supports the "fun name" standard set up by the Viking mod author. Check the links page to see the upto date list of mods that are supporting it.
